What we clear in Croydon

Croydon runs from flats and offices in the town centre to the suburbs of Selsdon, Purley and Coulsdon and the Green Belt around Kenley. The council’s bulky collection doesn’t take garden waste, soil, rubble, plasterboard or bags of household rubbish, and vans can use only one of its three tips, on two mornings a week.

Croydon Council’s bulky collection or us?

Croydon Council charges £40.40 for one to three bulky items and £65.30 for four to six, with six the most per visit (council bulky waste page). Only items listed on the booking are taken, and garden waste, soil, rubble, tiles, plasterboard, bags of household rubbish and pianos are not. For a few pieces of furniture you can put outside, the council is good value. For garden and building waste, or anything you need gone today, we collect the same day.

Croydon’s tips and vans

Croydon has three recycling centres: Factory Lane (CR0 3RL), Fishers Farm in New Addington (CR0 0LB) and Purley Oaks (CR8 2BG). Vans are allowed only at Factory Lane, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 11am and 1pm, up to 5m long and 2.6m high, with no Luton vans, tippers or trade waste. Cars with trailers aren’t allowed at any of them (council page).

Fly-tipping fines and your duty of care

Croydon announced in 2025 that fly-tipping fines would rise from £400 to £1,000, and in court the fine can be up to £50,000. The council warns that if you give your rubbish to someone who dumps it without checking their waste carrier licence, you can be held responsible and prosecuted (council page). We are registered with the Environment Agency (CBDU575975) and give you a waste transfer note for every job.

Parking and red routes

Croydon has about 20 controlled parking zones, from the town centre to Purley, Coulsdon, South Norwood and Thornton Heath. Since April 2026 a resident’s bay suspension costs £35 a day (£46 in the central zone) plus a £46 admin charge, with ten working days’ notice (council page). The A23 (London Road, Purley Way and Brighton Road), the A232 and the A22 Godstone Road are TfL red routes, so there we load from a side street.

Skip or wait and load?

Only skip companies can get a skip permit in Croydon, and a skip in a controlled parking zone has to sit in a suspended bay as well (council page). Our wait-and-load service needs neither: we arrive, load and leave.
