What we clear in Bexley

Bexley’s bulky collection only takes items left outside, never from inside your home or from a back garden without side access, so anything that has to come out of the house is down to you or to us.

Bexley has controlled parking zones around most of its stations, from Abbey Wood and Erith to Sidcup and Albany Park, and in Bexleyheath, Sidcup and Welling town centres, so we check where the van can stop before we set off.

Next door we also cover Greenwich and Bromley.

Bexley council rules, parking and recycling

Keep this in mind

The council’s large item collection or us?

Bexley Council’s bulky collections start at £50 (Saturdays from £67.50), and the price depends on the number and size of items. Fridges, washing machines and other large electricals can go in the same booking, but everything must be left outside in the agreed spot, not on the public highway, and crews do not collect from inside your home or from a back garden without side access (council large item page). If you need it gone today, carried out from inside, or a mixed load with electricals, we collect the same day.

Foots Cray and Thames Road recycling centres and vans

Bexley has two reuse and recycling centres: Maidstone Road, Foots Cray DA14 5HS (closed on Wednesdays) and Thames Road, Crayford DA1 5QJ. Cars do not need to book, but no vans are accepted at either centre. Residents with a van use the Thames Road Waste Transfer Station instead, which needs photo ID and proof of address, allows 250kg of household waste free per financial year and charges by weight after that. Trade waste is not accepted at the centres, and landlords clearing a tenant’s waste are treated as commercial users (council recycling centres page, Thames Road transfer station).

Fly-tipping fines and your duty of care

Bexley issues fixed penalty notices of up to £1,000 for dumping waste (council fly-tipping page). Whoever takes your rubbish away must be a registered waste carrier. We are registered with the Environment Agency (CBDU575975) and give you a waste transfer note for every job.

Parking and red routes

Suspending a parking bay in Bexley costs £50 per bay per day or £150 per bay per week, applied for through the council’s permit portal at least three working days ahead (council suspensions page). The A2 and A20 are Transport for London roads (council road network page), so there we load from a side street.

Skip or wait and load?

A skip permit in Bexley costs £65 and covers one skip for up to 14 days. It has to be applied for at least two working days before the start date, the skip company needs a waste carriers licence and public liability insurance, and a skip in a resident or pay and display bay also needs the bay suspended (council skip page). Our wait-and-load service needs no licence: we arrive, load and leave.

FAQs About Our Services in Bexley

Will you clear a shed and garden in Sidcup?

Yes, both in one visit. Soil, bricks and rubble are heavy and can cost more, so send photos on WhatsApp and we will price it first.

Can you collect near Bexleyheath or Sidcup station, where parking is controlled?

Yes. We wait and load, so nothing is left on the street and there is no skip permit to arrange. We check where the van can stop before we come.

Can I take a van load to Foots Cray or Thames Road myself?

Not to the recycling centres, as neither accepts vans. Residents’ vans go to the Thames Road Waste Transfer Station, which takes 250kg of household waste free per financial year and charges by weight after that.

Does Bexley Council collect large items?

Yes, from £50 a booking (from £67.50 on Saturdays), priced by the number and size of items. Everything has to be outside, as crews do not go into your home or a back garden without side access. We take it from inside, the same day.

What areas of Greater London do you cover for waste collection?

We provide comprehensive waste collection services across all boroughs of Greater London. This wide coverage ensures that residents and businesses throughout the capital can access reliable and efficient waste removal solutions. You can see our service areas here. If you cannot find your area, feel free to contact us.
