What we clear in Greenwich
Greenwich has large new riverside developments on the Peninsula and in Woolwich, and older suburbs further south around Eltham. The council’s bulky collection won’t take items from back gardens, front gardens with steps or locked storage, and its only tip doesn’t let vans in.
- Greenwich and the Peninsula: flat clearances and move-outs
- Woolwich and Plumstead: house clearances, bulky items
- Eltham and Kidbrooke: furniture removal, garden waste and lofts
- Charlton and Blackheath: period home clearances, renovation waste
On O2 event days parking on the Peninsula is restricted, so we plan collections there around event times.
Nearby we also cover Southwark, and across the river Tower Hamlets and Barking and Dagenham.
Greenwich council rules, parking and recycling
Keep this in mind
Greenwich Council’s bulky collection or us?
Royal Greenwich charges £13.82 per bulky item, and £4.19 a bag for bagged waste with a minimum of four bags (council bulky waste page). Items must be at the front of the property by 6am, and the crew won’t collect from back gardens, front gardens with steps, locked stores or gated car parks. For one or two items you can carry to the front, the council is cheap. For anything else, we carry it out the same day.
Nathan Way recycling centre and vans
The borough’s tip is Nathan Way in Thamesmead, SE28 0AF. Commercial vehicles aren’t allowed on site, and that includes hired vans, pick-ups and trailers towed by a multi-axle vehicle. Vans have to use the transfer station next door, which charges by weight (council page).
Fly-tipping fines and your duty of care
From 19 January 2026 Greenwich raised its fly-tipping fine from £400 to £1,000, and the fine for a household that hands its rubbish to an unlicensed carrier from £400 to £600 (council news). We are registered with the Environment Agency (CBDU575975) and give you a waste transfer note for every job.
Parking and red routes
The borough has about 30 controlled parking zones, including Greenwich Town Centre, East Greenwich, Charlton, Woolwich, Eltham and Blackheath Standard. Suspending a bay costs £66.40 a day plus a £66.40 admin fee, with ten working days’ notice (council page). The Blackwall Tunnel approach, the A2 and the South Circular between Eltham and the Woolwich Ferry are TfL red routes, so there we load from a side street.
Skip or wait and load?
A skip licence in Greenwich costs £114, usually for 30 days, and only the skip company can apply (council skip page). Our wait-and-load service needs no licence: we arrive, load and leave.

FAQs About Our Services in Greenwich
What is the fine if someone I paid fly-tips my rubbish?
In Greenwich it is £600 for the household. Always ask for a waste licence number and a waste transfer note. Ours is CBDU575975.
Do you collect from new-build flats in Woolwich and on the Peninsula?
Yes. Let us know about any concierge, loading bay or car park access rules when you book and we will plan around them.
Will you collect from my back garden in Eltham or Charlton?
Yes. Unlike the council’s bulky service, we collect from back gardens, sheds, garages and up steps, and do all the carrying ourselves.
Can I take a hired van to Nathan Way?
No. Commercial vehicles, including hired vans, aren’t allowed at the Thamesmead centre and have to pay by weight at the transfer station next door. Booking us is often simpler than hiring a van.
What areas of Greater London do you cover for waste collection?
We provide comprehensive waste collection services across all boroughs of Greater London. This wide coverage ensures that residents and businesses throughout the capital can access reliable and efficient waste removal solutions. You can see our service areas here.
